The University of Mary Graduate Competencies emphasized the importance of communication skills in demonstrating excellence in a professional setting. In my paper on motivational interviewing, I highlighted the significance of effective communication in fostering behavioral change. By analyzing different communication strategies used in motivational interviewing, I showed how I engaged with individuals, families, and communities. This aligned with the competency of adapting language and techniques to resonate with diverse audiences.

When I formulated a comprehensive health risk assessment and health promotion plan, I incorporated effective communication strategies tailored to diverse populations. Additionally, when I employed evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to guide activities, I ensured my communication was clear and precise.
