Essential III: Clinical Scholarship and Analytical Methods for Evidence-Based Practice
The creation of a health promotion poster on lung cancer prevention exemplifies growth in the American Association of College of Nurses’ Doctorate Essential III. Through this assignment, students critically appraise existing literature on lung cancer, learning to identify reliable evidence and best practices. We evaluated current health promotion efforts by comparing them to national benchmarks, which helps them recognize gaps in community awareness and understand the importance of systematic approaches in healthcare.
Moreover, I appled quality improvement methodologies by designing strategies to enhance lung cancer awareness, thereby promoting patient-centered care. The assignment also encouraged the synthesis of research findings into practical guidelines for the poster, reinforcing their ability to translate evidence into effective health promotion strategies.
Finally, the use of digital tools in poster creation equipped me with essential technology skills for disseminating health information. Overall, this assignment not only fulfills an educational requirement but also prepares future nursing leaders to advocate for evidence-based practices and improve health outcomes in their communities.
